93 LT1 Priming oil pump and motor

I am getting ready to install new motor in my 93 z28. Can anybody tell me how to prime the oil pump and motor before instaling and starting?

You use an SBC priming tool with a drill, but the intake manifold has to be off to do this.

Just pull all of the spark plugs out and crank the engine over until you build oil pressure.

My 97 Camaro sat in my garage apart for a year and a half and I didn't have any issues doing it this way.

Rather than pulling wires off the plugs and pulling injector fuses, simple unplug the gray Opti connector on the bracket on the passenger side of the intake manifold.

Pulling the PCM fuse will do the job as well.

Thanks Rob for giving me the correct way to do this. What is the SBC tool and where do you get one?

Small Block Chevy priming tool. Any speed shop or Summit, Jegs or some auto parts stores, etc. should have one. Make sure it has a collar (blue piece on right in pic below) that fits in the hole by the cam.
