93 Computer Troubles

I have a 1993 Camaro Z28 with a stock LT1. I am very interested in doing the LT4 conversion. I do know that I will have to purchase the 94 or newer fuel rails to match with the different style LT4 intake manifold. What I don't know is how to re-program the computer to make the LT4 run properly. Everywhere i have seen the kit for sale it clearly states that computer changes are a must. I know there is no hypertech prgrammer for a 93 and was wondering if possible where i can get a 93 re-programed. Or if it would be possible and easier to just change to a 94 computer. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

You can't change to a 94 PCM.... you have batch fire injection, 94's are sequential fire; you have speed-density A/F management, 94 has a MAF sensor; your tranny is "manual", 94 is "electronic", controlled by PCM; etc..

Most of the people who do flash programming for the 94 and newer PCM's with the fixed chips, will also do prgramming of the removable chips in the 93's. Check with pcmforless, madwolf or Ed Wright.

I'd go with a re-programmed chip.
The tranny issue isn't really hard to overcome if you have an auto, it's just attaching the TV cable and wiring up a manual TCC lockup switch.
Swapping the PCM and harness would cost anywhere from $200+ and then you still need to get it programmed. Best is to use that money to get a nice chip burned.
I'll probably get flamed for this comment, but Speed Density makes more power NA than a MAF system.
