6 SPEEDERS w/3.73's or 4.10's
i liked my 4.10's. gas mileage wasn't off by too much, either. i'd try to get a good aluminum or carbon fiber driveshaft to go along with them, since it will be spinning faster at speed than it does with 3.42's
Thanks for the positive info guys. I think I'm going to go with 3.73's. I'm going to ask as many questions as I need to answer my question. Unless you have some insightful information to add to the arguement then don't waste my time.
4.10s all the way. milage is still good. No regrets here. And for anyone who says its too much gear
like someone said earlier, 4.56 would be better. And no first gear isnt a waste, it is so much fun blowing thru first and hitting second hard and looking in the mirror and seeing some nice black streaks
Get 4.10s unless you are going to use nitrous. I cruise at about 1700@60mph. ( damn canadian speed limits
)

You're wasting everyone on the board's time by posting the same question multiple times. I counted 3 threads started by you on page 1 of LT1 tech regarding gears a couple hours ago. Who's wasting who's time again? Some people like 3.73s, others prefer 4.10s. Just pick which characteristics of each you prefer and make your decision.
You guys are nuts with these high *** gear ratios... I have trouble hooking with 3.42's, with 4.10's it would be past trying to fix it would just be funny trying to floor it. It would look like a fish flopping around out of water haha.
I think the consensus is that if you have serious power either keep your stock gears (or get 3.73's if you really want) OR get a 12 bolt.
If you are a mostly stock car with bolt-ons, get 4.10's. I wouldn't go higher than that though. Our cars don't need 4.56's to go fast, that's some mustang bull****.
