I believe around a 1000----do the math.

Personally, I would not go with a Holley. JMHO

So...if there are alot of people running them without problems, then there are apparently some people who have experienced problems....so why would one take a chance on being one of those people who have experienced problems?JMHO

People have had issues with the other brands of throttle bodies as well, not just the Holley line.

Ok: what part of "personally I would not go with a Holley"........

Just kidding----actually, several members have experienced problems with the Holleys, wheresas I have not seen as many complaints about other TBs including AS&M, BBK, etc. The only reason I mention the Holley, per se, is that several members have opted for the Holleys because they look so pretty and all with their red butterflys-----but who looks at the red butterflies when you can't even see them with the plenum attached.

If you want a Holley, get a Holley.

oh....actually the problems with the Holleys (that I have seen on this board) have more to do with initial installation, i.e, at least some people were not able to plug and play and had to make some adjustments, etc.

So apparently it isn't a matter of something going wrong with them later, just some initial issues. So, I decided that for that much money I would opt to go with a TB with a reputation of plug and play---no screwing around. JMHO

This is what I've seen too.

I've had/have BBK, Holley, and AS&M. My AS&M bolted up no problem and I haven't had a problem with it for the 10 years ( ) it has been installed. The Holley I had trouble with the cruise control cable "stud" in that it had too thick of a head and the factory piece wouldn't fit. A Dremel and about 2 minutes fixed the problem. Others have had problems with the blades not fully sealing (like they installed 52mm blades ina 58mm TB! DOH!). Since then I've had zero issues with the Holley.

The biggest issue with a 58mm throttle body is for people with the 4L60E. Those who have a 58mm tb and 4L60E really should have the PCM reprogrammed to account for the lower TPP for the same driving speed/habits around town.

If I was going to buy a 58mm throttle body right now I'd buy either a Holley or AS&M and then I'd buy which ever I could get the best deal on

Theres problems with the BBK also. It sticks open when you spray in it and also sticks open on its own without reason. Also the way that the idle air ports are fabricated is not even close to the stock TB which sometimes causes ideling problems. I think all aftermarkets are made that way though.

The famous syndrome supporting purchase decisions:

"I've not had problems, therefore anyone whom did, didn't know what they were doing as I bought the best."

Kills me everytime. Welcome to the internet girls, where rocket science and logic merge in perfect union.
