looking to swap out my motor for a big block setup, how big of a engine will fit under the hood of my 93 Z28? i want to run a carbuerated set up with a crate motor, has anyone done this? how much am i looking at spending to run a crate motor with around 475-510 hp at the crank. assuming i can purchase the motor for around 3 grand?

Where can you buy a 500 horse crate motor for $3K?

A big block will fit just fine...I think it was Brady96Z that did a 9.55 with his first time out!

why do you want a big block in your camaro? when you could just buld your lt1 mildly with forged internals, ported heads, a cam, and alot of nitrous and beat the crap out of a big block. plus that is alot of weight, power to weight ratio. small block 500 hp will beat a big block 500 hp because of the added weight of the big block. I f you really want to, bmr fabrication makes a k member for putting a big block in a 4th gen.

I agree with BigBlack. You will have a biyatch of a time trying to get that badboy in there also. It will be a lot easier to just build a 383 or 396. Spend the extra money on an awesome set of heads. Thats where the power is.
