4bolt lt1 ?

i have a 95 ta. i put a lt1 out of a vette.. i pulled it out this winter to rebuild it and it was a 4 bolt main.. is this a lt1 or lt4 motor. i put down 288hp with a 3000 stall and 273 gears. all rest factory... any input..

The vettes got 4 bolt mains. I don't know what the differences in the LT1 and LT4 other than the heads and intake.

it had a red intake, but i think that someone painted it..

if i'm not mistaken 6 speed corvettes had 4 bolt main lt1s. an easy check is the color of the intake manifold, red=LT4.

edit* the LT4 also has roller rockers instead of the ball-fulcrum type.

Corvettes got 4 bolt main blocks.

As Shoebox noted ALL Corvettes, 92-96, got 4-bolt main LT1 blocks. There is no difference between an LT1 and an LT4 block. If you want to check if it came from an LT4 (all 96 M6 Corvettes), compare the part numbers to this list:
