4" stroker crank in lt1

I know it possible and I see a company that sells kits to make 409s. My question is why dont I see more people with 409s? whats wrong with you people?

To do that kind of cubes, you will have to have the block sonic checked to make sure it can handle it. Most lt-1's can't, so you need to sift though block after block to find the right one. Much cheaper to build a 383 or 396.

As sugested, this is not your mothers stroker! Some high end block work is needed, small base circle cam, etc. Basically, it is far from a cost effective mod. If you absolutely must have a max effort LT1 and have already spent the long buck on heads, intake, valve train, exhaust, etc., then it would be time to consder this. But before going there, most people would have already ditched the LT1 and gone to gen I SBC. This allows much better heads and really huge displacement.
