The mechanic who is assembling my 396 LT1 just called me and said that he hit a water passage while clearancing for the rods. I have Eagle H beam 5.85" rods with the L19 rod bolts. He said he's going to "quickcrete" the bottom of the block to stop leaks and add rigidity.

Has anybody else ran into this?

I read a ton on the subject and never saw anyone have a problem with this before.
