Probably depends on the crank brand/model. I have a Callies Stealth crank, and it took a couple very tiny taps with a hammer to eliminate any contact. You can't see the dimples from the outside.

The scat's crank I have used a few times, had to do the same as what Injuneer is desribing. Too much and you could get K-member interferance if using stock k-member so don't go crazy on it.

mine was not working at all. I got an aftermarket pan with better clearance but still had to hammer it a little on the front.

I have an eagle forged crank

That's weird as I have the Eagle forged crank and Ibeams in mine and the stock pan would have fit with some small dimples/taps. However, my builder really wanted me to have a deeper pan and we went with the canton w/built in windage/crank scraper. To the OP make sure that if you go with a HV pump that you DO NOT use the stock pan as you will suc that puppy dry and have pressure dropping issues. Do a search and you'll find ton's of stuff on there and ls1tech.

I have a callies compstar crank and if there was clearance on the pan, it was very little (as I never seen any).

As stated above, running stock pan with HV pump is a big gample and the odds are not on your side.

When I had a stock pan the Callies crank did not interfere.
