Got the pedal installed. I wound up using wood to come up with dimensions, then welding a bracket. The bracket works off of a pre existing bolt going into firewall. I also wound up drilling out part of the upper pedal assembly bracket running some all thread with a nut through that and then stacking metal bar stock that had been drilled to appropriate size. After all that the CTS V pedal bracket sat level and in a good position. (I also drilled this to accomidate the all thread and put a nut on the other side) I am still going create a triangular reinforcement to the existing bracket to make things even more stable.

Hopefully you just got all that.

As of right now the pedal feels like it is in a great position and natural to my foot, (it was a big concern to me) It is very sturdy and almost done. I am so pumped because I think startup is going to be this week or weekend! I just need to bleed brakes and do a little more adjustment on the strange strut springs height, and its time to see if all my hard work has payed off.

Here is a small idle clip that I took on my first startup! Today has been monumental after 3yrs of looking at my car sitting there. I would drive around in my slow DD wishing it was running after seeing everybody else in their weekend rides. This thing sounds crazy in person!

Not getting any throttle response though even though the blades on the throttlebody are functional. I think it has to do with the tune, but still checking into it. I got a base tune to get engine running, and will be taking it to get aligned/dyno tuned after I get this ironed out and broke in.

I will be posting more vids up soon.

I need to readjust lash and re-tighten header bolts now.

Did anyone have to upgrade your starter after going to a 383? I think I got everything else ready to go but when I try and start it the flywheel just chatters forward, not giving a complete turn. Any Ideas?

Did you check to make sure the starter was shimmed correctly and fully engaging the ring gear teeth?

No problems here.

I put my aeroforce gauge on it today and confirmed that the throttle does not move with engine running, but will adjust itself to idle. It moves to 99% with engine off in key forward position. I am thinking something in the tune is not letting it move its range.
