similar to mysetup. Depending on your head gasket thickness, I was 10.9ish:1 Use a compression ration calculator, search google.

You don't even need to "search google"..... the CR calculator is right here on CamaroZ28.com, along with lots of other helpful calculators. There's a post "stickied" at the top of the forum topic listing with the link to the calculations page.

I have the same setup. Was told by Bret that I should've got flat top pistons and should not have used -16cc dished pistons cause compression will be low, although my calculation shows 10.8:1 SCR.

I am thinking to switch to flat top pistons. Surprized to see some are using -16cc dished pistons as I did with 383.

But check what it says, 11.8 CR with 58 cc. With 54cc, it will be above 12:1 CR which is high for pump gas.

This is why I went with -16cc pistons and still think it was a right choice with DD camshaft like cc306, I was using at first.

Do you think flat top pistons, 54cc head and cc306 at 12+:1 CR will work with pump gas? Tell me I was wrong.

Solve for DCR...if DCR is less than ~8.5, it will run fine on pump gas.
