Question wierd electrical problem- battery discharging

just made a 3k mile drive cross country ( in 3 days no less ) and could not believe the camaro made it nevermind made it towing a 4x8 uhual - well my joy could only last so long-

been out here for about a week, and no real issues besides the car adjusting to the higher elevation untill i went out to start it 4 days ago. nothing. no lights or anything- I assumed i had left the door open or a light on and it killed my battery, so pulled out my jumpstart pack and she started right up. Drove her to work , parked her for 8 hours and at the end of the day started up no problems.

next day walk out and no juice again- sooo... assumed the battery just crapped out and cant hold a charge. Try jumping her but couldnt get her to start. so i charge the jumping pack and hour or so later go to jump. This time lights come on then instantly everything dies and my jumper battery is drained as well.

so i get a friend to try and jumpstart the car but nothing. lights wouldnt go on or anything, almost like she wasnt grounded. so i give up on it, and today after work go out and she starts right up no problem. tools being in storage i rush it over to sears to have my battery replaced ( under warranty ) - this is where it gets wierd

get there and they hook it up and battery tests bad on car. so they take it off and test it... it tests good and holds a charge. They then take a brand new battery and throw it in the car. Tests bad in the car. So then they test the alternator which tests well and my starter is fine. they give up and say they have no idea.

so ya... thats where i stand now. only thing i can think of is its shorting out somewhere and discharging the battery. we've had no rain or snow, so its nothing to do with that. Sorry about the long post... im kinda stuck right now living in a hotel, tools are in storage and im at work 6 days a week, working about 13 hour days.

So... any one have any suggestions on where to start ? or any ideas what could be causing it ?

Remove the positive battery cable from the battery. With a multimeter set to resistance (ohms) measure the resistance from the positive cable to the negative battery post. More than likely it will read low resistance. You can now either wiggle all the red wires until the reading goes high or you can remove the red wires one by one from the positive cluster on the passenger fender until the reading goes high.

Once you do that, you can then trace the wire that caused the reading to go high when it was removed.
