355 Le3
355 Le3
I have a set of LE3 heads that i purchased along with some other stuff...they are intended for a 383 LE3 setup. However...until i can get some more money, i will be going with a budget 355 LE3 setup.
i need some thoughts as to what cam i should use, and what i can expect to see to the wheels.
setup:
LE3 Heads
355 Forged Pistons -7cc, stock crank, stock rods.
Stock oil pan
Replacement Hyd Rol Lifters
Comp Pro Mag 1.6rr NSA
chromemoly pushrods
Ported LT1 intake
58mm TB
42lb Injectors
AFPR
Stock Replacement Timing chain
MSD coil, wires
ngk tr-6 plugs
3200 stall converter
Stage 2 4L60E
stock 3.42 rear
I am thinking about having Bret Bauer grind me a cam...not sure yet.
Any thoughts as to what i might make to the wheels?

Re: 355 Le3
sounds like a good setup, without knowing the cam specs or how you are going to tune the car its hard to tell what kind of power you will be making... if the cam is anything like the le3 cam you will probably be seeing something in the 420-440 range with an excellent dyno tune.. possibly higher but limited due to the auto tranny (dont put out as high numbers as m6).. the only things i would strongly reccomend would be a set of high performance lifters and a different timing chain.. if you are using stock replacement lifters, you will never be able to rev a higher lift cam to its powerband.. they will fail.. the stock lifters are good for stock or a mild cam but not anything bigger than like a cc306..morel would be a good choice.. as for the timing chain, this is just my personal preference, i would go with something true double roller... do you have an electric waterpump? if so you can get the cloyes true double roller timing chain for like 80 bucks
Re: 355 Le3
how much more converter...and by more gears i assume at least a 3.73?
if i can come up with the extra money i will...at the very least get more gear...how much does it cost to get a stall converter restalled? and who can do it?

Re: 355 Le3
gear and stall depend upon how much you drive the car... if its your daily driver then id find a happy medium somewhere between stock and extreme.. if its a track car go get a 4500 stall and a 4:10 gear
Re: 355 Le3
daily driver....
no elec wp...thus no double roller...:P
also, i was thinking about those comp "R" lifters, but i dunno about that whole 100 price dif from the stock replacers...
