32# injectors on stock motor?

I put racetronix 32# injectors in a stock lt1 with what u could say is a cai and an y-pipe back exhaust. Its in my 81 ta with an m6 and 3.08s. it feels to me that it runs great but i think it has to be running rich. I did use lt1 edit to recalibrate for the injector size. Also would i have to tune out my egr system if i remove thatnks in advance.

There is no problem running that size injector, as long as you have programmed the correct flow rate constant and offsets. You will simply find that the injector duty cycle has dropped off a bit, and that is "good". No harm at all in running an oversize injector, as long as you don't get ridiculous. Of course there won't be any performance gain either.

I was always curious how big you can go and tune it down, before you start hurting performance?

exactly. Your runnin a 3.08 rear gear w/a 6 speed? 6th gear has got to be worthless.

Re: 32# injectors on stock motor?

I didnt get a chance to run it with the stock injectors so i cant tell if the performance moved but i doubt it did. I also didnt mess with any offset tables just the injector size in lt1 edit. And 6th gear works ok withthe 308s but will be alot better with the 390s i plan to install as soon as i base line the car at the track. hell it still has thee camaro manifolds and y pipe on it. ANY INFO ABOUT TUNING OUT THE EGR AND AIR PUMP WOULD BE VERY USEFUL SO I CAN PUT MY HEADERS ON IT. BY the way will gen 1 headrers fit the lt1 heads. I know the dont fit on the 4th gens body but i think they should fit.

If you get headers for the d-port exhaut and the 23 degree that the heads are you shoudn't have a problem but I don't know if the generic headers that fit your car will bolt up to the LT1. You may have to basically splice the LT1 flange onto a set of Super Comps...you may be able to have hooker do it for you.

Good Luck
