Top End 5k+ is losng power??!!!

Top End 5k+ is losng power??!!!

well i just notcice that when im WOT and get into the red around 5k+ it starts losing a tun of power then shifts at around 6500 rpms!!

does this mean my engine is about to go?

Well, your cam is a 6 grand cam and probably peaks at around 5500, so if you are shifting at 6500 your power would be on the down side. So if you change your shift points closer to your peak power, I would guess that you would be better off. JMHO

Could be your shift points, fuel system, ignition, etc.

Really hard to tell. You should try to get some logs (ie. Datamaster, etc.). That would give much more insight into what is really going on.

Some basic things i've noticed: On a WOT run and you loose power but comes right back after a shift - opti If you still have a bog after the shift, may be fuel system.

nvm i found the problem, i was OUT of gas!!!

I don't think I would have admitted to that! LOL..I would have made up something like I needed a new fuel filter or sumthin....You got ***** to give us all a good laugh like that though!

Post your dyno sheet so we can see what it is doing. Could be a lot of things but the dyno sheet will indicate if your breaking up, having blowby, etc.

Sorry to hear that, next time make sure you have gas....I too would have said something like a fuel filter before admitting to being out of gas...Sometimes it's the simpliest things that make us go crazy!!!
