275 stock or more a little rumor i heard
all fbody lt1 were created equal in aspects of hp, the vette lt1 was has a litttle higher hp, due to the exhaust manifolds being more efficient, true dual exhuast, and a better air intake box than our fbody.
regular LT1 fbodies had 275 and 285 hp at the flywheel. depends on if you have dual cats or not. WS6 and SS cars had 305hp at the flywheel. if the SS car had SLP exhuast as an option it had 315 like the firehawk. the WS6 cars couldnt get SLP options as they were not SLP cars.
bone stock, unless you consider K&N and a 160 stat mods, i put 270hp and 302tq to the wheels. i also had 65k miles on the car. so yea they where under rated a little if you do the drivetrain loss of 18 percent. but no the vette didnt also have more power. of course you could easily get an LT4 in a vette though. From: I reached back like a pimp and smacked that LS1....
My SS also ran 13.9 @100 bone stock. I have seen faster bone stock Z28's.
The SS's did not really dyno higher, or go noticably faster.
The airbox and catback are slightly better than stock, but track times and dyno numbers were offset by the heavy 17in wheels.
(The stock 'salad shooters' are actually a very light wheel)

It's probaby the same thing why alot of SS didn't come with markings from SLP either.
and I do think our F-bodies were a little over the stock hp ratings that GM stated.
Just thought I'd put this in for others to read "When a buyer ordered the WS.6 package in 96 and 97, standard Trans am and Formula models were sent to SLP's production Facility not far from the F-body assembly plant in Ste. Therese, Quebec, for conversion".

oh well i havent searched over a lot of SS cars but ive always seen markings on the LT1 cars.
and yea if you do the calculations then my car suppsedly makes around 320 at the flywheel. so GM fudged like always, but i dont mind. trey

Maybe mine was a freak, but I dyno'd at 284rwhp/323tq the first time I ever dyno'd. At the time I had LT4 exhaust manifolds, K&N filter, synthetic oils from front to back, and March pullies.

My bone stock 92 Vette (LT1) put down 270RWHP & 302TQ.
My 95 Formula (LT1) put down 258RWHP & 289TQ with a K&N FIPK and Hooker catback.
Both cars were M6, so if you go with 15% driveline loss, the Vette made 317HP, and the Formula made 303HP. Considering the intake and catback on the Formula, I'd guess that it was right at 275-285HP stock.

i was under the impression the only advantage the ss had was a better suspension and a bigger spoiler, a few minor things u know nothing supposed to make it faster really, except its handling is better
Depends on the SS. The SLP SS and Firehawk (Firebird version) had a ram air hood with high flow airbox, catback, 17" wheels and tires (16" on verts), and usually suspension improvements as well. There was actually a whole list of extras that could be ordered on the cars. Then of course there are the rare ones like the 97 LT4 SS and Firehawk cars (100 SS, 29 Firehawks), that were EXTENSIVELY modified including a balanced and blueprinted LT4 making 330HP. The regular SS/Firehawk LT1s were rated at 305HP which is right in line with what my 95 Formula made with intake and catback.
