Thirty years from now, there might be a supser sweet Camaro on the Jackson auctions in Arizona....I can hear the announcers now "GM really p ushed this design hard through many, many little flaws. Some of these cars have character that certain individual buyers desire.....like not starting after rain, and having high RPM misses in the worst times....like racing classic 1998 Civic Si's..."
"yeah Jeff, they certainly did have issues with their Optispark distributors but I do remember this little jewel from back in the day with 267K miles on it"
Dude, you have to save it.

A little udpate to this old thread about that optispark!
I cannot believe it was still running as good as it was! Rotor will BARELY turn from all the rust inside it!

Definitely something missing here!!

Compared to one in good shape!

I guess all those water pump failures had an adverse effect after all! Hard to see, but it's pretty rusty inside the hole.

I'm comming up on 150k on a 90% sure sock cap, considering the guy I got it from said it has 8mm wires on it, but found out this weekend that it was 8's on the driver side and stock on the pass side. And that's not all the stupidity that this guy did to it, but I wont thread jack and save that story for a thread when I start tearing into it.
