Arrow 233/239 Dyno Results!

I couldn't resist the temptation and I dyno tuned my car today, before leaving on my vacation Friday.

Car specs:

93 Z28 with a 94 LT1 engine I swapped in a few months ago
Original 700R4 with 129K miles on it SLP 2400 stall and tranny cooler.

Stock ignition, plug wires and opti, all with 50K miles on them. New AC Delco plugs. Stock TB, stock heads.

233/239 cam, 612 springs, comp chromemoly 1 pc pushrods, comp R lifters, 1.6 NSA rockers with guideplates, hooker lts, hooker y pipe, magnaflow catback and moroso CAI.

The car put down 348.0 RWHP and 345.0 RWTQ (SAE). The stock 24 lb/hr injectors were running at 100%+ duty cycle.

I am positive I can get 2-7 more RWHP with some 30 pounders and a little more tuning. Might put a cutout on it and try a 52 mm TB to see if I can touch the 360 mark.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with the results. I was dreaming of 350 RWHP, but hoped to get 340, so I think my expectations were about right.

Not too bad for a stock headed A4, eh?

Wow Ion, congratulations. Those are some great numbers for an automatic! What RPM are your shift points set at? and is the 2400 stall enough for that cam? I'd love to see a dyno graph

Thanks!
I'll scan the Dyno graph tomorrow if I'll have time.
The peak HP was a little over 6000, but the power stayed about the same to about 6400-6500. (I ran it to 6600)
Torque fell off a little quicker.

"Shift points" are stock right now since I can't change them on a 700R4 through programming. It shifts right at 6000, and I don't really care to shift higher than that. It's a fun car mainly.

When I installed that stall, I didn't think I was going to put in a cam, so I went with a 2400. I plan on leaving it in there till the tranny gives up. Then I will go to a 2800.

That's cool. So you think shifting at 6500-6600 would be good? When I get a cam, I want to get the biggest cam possible that won't need me to spin the crap out of my bottom end.

Yep, 6500 is what I would shift at with this cam and ported heads. 6300 or 6400 at most with stock heads. As you can tell, I'm also not a big fan of spinning the stock bottom end that high.

what's up Ion

I guess it's time for me to show up in Dekalb to check that black z-28 out, last time I remember your 4cyl beater wasn't much of a match, maybe agaist my supra. Nice numbers, where did you get your dyno tune? I would guess at ls1speed.com in Schauburg, but maybe there is another place close by. How much did it cost you to dyno tune the car? I will be coming to visit some friends soon in Dekalb, and get my car dynotuned at ls1speed.com, let me know if you need my old 3.42 rear end.

I tuned the car. Jim aka INTMD8 readjusted my rockers (I screwed them up before leaving to Schaumburg and didn't have time to readjust them) and ran the dyno. Good guy with a really nice 760 RWHP LT1.

I paid $120 for 4 runs.

Thanks for the offer on the 3.42 rear. I'm keeping the 3.23 for now and when this one breaks, I'm getting a 3.42 12 bolt.

PS. Your Supra got big time. Stop spreading the BS!

$120 with dyno runs and tuning, or $120 just for using dyno and you did tuning by yourself. How much would it cost me to dyno my car? 760 RWHP Lt1 must be impressive

$120 was just for the 4 dyno runs.
I think they have a special right now... $325 dyno tuning.

Nice numbers Ion. I'm from DeKalb too. We'll have to meet up sometime so I can bounce some ideas off ya for my sisters Lt1 car.

Justin,
sure, stop by anytime when I come back. (Jan 12)
is your Typhoon black with ZR1 rims?
I know one typhoon tried to race me a couple of times in DeKalb and it sounded way too mean for my almost stock car. (back when I didn't have the cam yet)
