227/233 vs 233/239

i narrowed my cam selection down to the 227/233 and the 233/239,,
i'm not the most knowladgeable about cams, but what cam would be my best bet with lyod elliot p+p'd heads, lt4timing set, 30# injectors? and lt headers?

233/239 is worth 20 more HP, at the cost of an inch or so of vacuum and some worse street manners

UPS dropped off my 227/233 today. I talked to the guys at combination motorsports and he recommended both cams. he like the 227/233 with my 2800 stall. He said the 233/239 needed a higher stall. I am getting my cam installed within the month, then I will have some real info.

well, i got the 233/239 cam and im working on installing it right now. but, due to 3 other side jobs (cam install, heads/cam/headers/blower , and blower/full exh. system) mine wont be done for a while. plus Im porting my own heads, so that will take at least a few weeks of my extra time at work. I have a 3K stall in my 95 and midlength headers, but I also told him Im ok w/needing to grow into my cam. instead of buying a smaller cam now, then swapping to a bigger cam later when i can afford LT's and good heads. I guess thats what it should come down to for you. will you be happy w/your current combo for a long time? or will you be making more upgrades still? if more upgrades to come, Id go w/the bigger cam too. another very important thing to consider here is how often will you be driving this car and is it your only car? if so then Id stick w/the smaller cam. however, either one should be alot of fun.

I have the 230/236/112 with ported heads. I'm wondering why you aren't considering this one? You seem to have skipped right over it! Anyways, the 230 is big on the street. The 233 will be real big.

Mine barely surges, has good vacuum, great idle (even with the A/C on), good lowend torque, great midrange, and great topend.

At the track I'm shifting at 6500. If you don't want to shift higher than that, then there's no reason to go bigger than the 230/236 because you'll just be sacraficing all the great stuff I mentioned above!
