are these stock heads friendly?

N227XL
227/233 @.050", 150/156 @.200"
Lift: .525"/.534" with 1.5 rockers, .560"/.569" with 1.6 rockers
Standard LSA 111

N233XL
233/239 @.050", 156/161 @.200"
Lift: .534"/.541" with 1.5 rockers, .569"/.577" with 1.6 rockers
Standard LSA 112

N239XL
239/245 @.050", 161/158 @.200"
Lift: .541"/.540" with 1.5 rockers, .577"/.576" with 1.6 rockers
Standard LSA 112

looks the the 1st is stock friendly, but i'm not so ure on the other ones...

what do you all say?

i want that last one, but i think its too much for stock heads...

mid one seems on the urge for stock heads

If you mean COMPLETELY stock heads...then none of them are stock head friendly. The factory LT1 valvesprings are definately not up to the task of handling those cams.

On the other hand, with a spring/retainer swap, you could pretty much run any cam you want with LT1 heads.

i'll be doing the springs, and pushrods with it too most likely... so i guess i can use any of them as long as i swap out my springs, get some harder pushrods, i can handle them all with stock heads?

i dont think swapping out the retainers are necessary tho... all it is a box where the spring sits in :P (not even a box hehe)

i personally wouldn't go above the 227/233 with stock heads.

Ditto......for a cam any bigger than the 227/233 range, you'll need to get a set of heads that flow to get the max potential outta that size cam.

Itty bitty?????? Did you check out the clip I put on your other post. The Hot Cam sound clip? Thats only a 218/228 and that dont even sound itty bitty. Have you ever heard a car with a 227/233????

people running the GM847 on stock heads are having great results.........its 234/242 duration 575 / 595 lift with 1.6rr.
