2 quick questions

A) could a faulty opti cause an lt to run warmer than usual?

B) is the driver side lower fan or passenger upper fan the primary because my car is missing the driver side fan.

1) highly unlikely
2) it shouldn't matter because once your car reaches around 216 your fan will kick on whether you have 2 or 1

Yeah but having one of the wto fans will cause it to run a little warmer. Thats whay your cars running a little warmer. Definately should invest in getting a new set. I wouldnt advise it but you can get a couple of cheap sets on ebay motors for under a hundred dollars maybe even fifty i know i saw them on the site. Go to ebay and click in the search box lt1 and jsut scroll until you find them if you really are needing to save some money.

Good to go that would be a good idea for now also looks like you have the ls1 car not the lt1 pretty sure though they have the same set up i cannot remember for sure. You can just check ls1 on ebay also in your case.

As stated, having one fan can cause it to run warmer under many conditions, regardless of which fan configuration you have. You need both to prevent getting too hot.

Yeah of course i was just implying i dont know for sure if you have the same fan setup as mine does but im pretty sure all the 1993-2002 fan setups were the same whether for an lt1 or ls1 and either way your car will run warmer due to less cooling because of only having one fan.

One setup has the primary fan come on first, then the secondary fan will come on at higher temp. Other, more recent setup has both fans come on low, then both will go to high at a higher temp. I don't remember what year they changed.

The switch from 1-fan/2-fans to low/high-speed fans was made in mid 94 model year.

Good to go that would be a good idea for now also looks like you have the ls1 car not the lt1 pretty sure though they have the same set up i cannot remember for sure. You can just check ls1 on ebay also in your case.
The OP's signature indicates he has a 94 LT1 and a 96 LT1.

2) it shouldn't matter because once your car reaches around 216 your fan will kick on whether you have 2 or 1
First fan (or low speed) at 226*F, Second fan (or high speed) at 235*F.

Hell yeah they do man the body style stayed the same though 93-97. I was wondering if that car was an lt-1. I do like the 98-02 look but i like the 93-97 look better man but i guess ive seen nice ones of both makes. Although im i kuwait and cannot look at my car to see but im not sure if the air dam is attached to the front bumper cover assembly or not and if it is then yours is probably different that is if the dam was changed from the 97 model to the 98 model. Im pretty sure they do have the same setup though you could just look and see though

oh ok, yea actually the previous owner converted it to the ls1 style and i added the ss hood. I prefer the older lt1 style too, looks meaner but i'm starting to warm up to the ls1 front end. i'll have to look into the air dam setup.
