1LE Elbow ... Any proven gains ?

Anyone ever make a run on the stock elbow with the donkey ******* thing that hangs off of it, Then swap it out for an aftermarket or 1LE elbow to see if it made a gain on the dyno ?

It is more of a convenience than a performance mod. I don't know anyone that has ever tried to prove any power from one. Consensus is that there is none to be gained.

There is prolly a chart somewhere out there with a dyno. I dont know about a before and after thing but if you need the gains based on if you gain hp with the 1le elbow then the gains would be minimal. It is usually to smooth out the air as it goes into the intake.

I got mine because my stock one was ripped, and its cheaper and better build quality than the stock piece. I guess you might gain a fraction of a hp who knows? Dont get it for hp gains, get it for the reasons i stated above.

same thing here got it cause it was cheap and mine was ripped. didn't notice any hp gain. and i didn't notice the car get any louder. that was the reason for the "donkey *******" as you put it.

96ZRDR _ Yea I was serious ... Alot of people on the board seemed to have a reason to buy it, and I couldnt see how it could make any real noticable gains ... The thought never came to mind though that the stock one might rip/tear easy ... So I thought maybe people were getting them since its a cheap part ( Like an air foil ) lol ...

I just bought the Vortech elbow. Looking for the sound rather than the power, but I hope it lets the air flow traight to the TB better.
