1995 z28 problem running
Hey guys,
I have a 1995 z28 camaro, that would run for a few seconds then quit. Fuel pressure was at about 44 psi with ignition on and 34 when running before the fuel pump was replaced. VATS had been bypassed and was working fine for about a month before the problem arose. New radiator, water pump and cold air intake are the only engine mods. Shop had it idling for an hour and a half after replacing fuel pump and pulling a couple injectors, but couldn't get it started the next day. I would welcome any input.

Are you seeing any codes by chance? Did you have an opportunity to log it during one of these attempts? How does it sound when it dies? Does adding throttle make it run longer?

there are no codes, therefore no logging. when it dies it quits suddenly, like you turned the ignition off. Adding throttle seems to make it quit slightly sooner. This is my first car and im trying to get into the car business as a career so i appreciate the help.

Have you actually tried to pull codes with the correct OBD-1 scanner, or are you just assuming no codes because the SES light is not on? A code like DTC 16 shuts down the fuel system, but does not turn on the SES light. Because of the 95's unique combination of an OBD-1 PCM and a 16-pin OBD-2 style DLC, many shops try and scan using an OBD-2 scanner, and it won’t connect.
You can run a data log at any time, not just when you have a code. Free data logging software specifically for 94/95 LT1:

We can help with interpreting the data log if needed.
