1993 Firehawk dyno #s finally.

All
I dynoed the hawk today on a dynojet. I was really pleased with the numbers.

My mods are , 160 stat, Mac mid-lengths, 3"ORP, PCMforless tune.

To all the ones saying I would hit about 270-280 with my mods, you were way off. To the ones that said I would dyno a few over 300 you were damn close, but no cigar.
309 rwhp, 342 rwtq

Here is the video I shot today.

Stong car, that should put you in the mid 12's or better.

I am curious to see what it does on the track.

Great numbers! With full bolt ons, you could definitely be in the 340+rwhp range!

Re: 1993 Firehawk dyno #s finally.

Thanks all. I was impressed with the #'s. The owner of the dyno shop said it should run at least 13.40s. He said its one of the strongest LT1s he seen at the shop for the mods done to it. He predicted 270-280 at best. So when it pulled 309/342 he was suprised. We did 3 pulls , 1st was 309.12, 2nd was 307.81 and the 3rd was 109.30 rwhp. All this with a 136K on the original motor. Dyno measured speed (mph) in 4th gear was 128 mph.

I have always heard Mac mid-lengths are a really good headers and dont give up much to the Longtubes in performance up to 400 hp. Mac claims a advertised 28 hp gain, who really knows. I know the sparkplug acess is really nice.

I think the PCMforless tune really helped and must have been dead on for these numbers.

The track opens in mid March, so I will find out what she will do.

Depends on traction. My stock-suspension, street tire LS1 made a bit more power and about the same torque, and the best I've managed is a 13.2 thanks to a crummy 60' time.

Then again, every dyno is different, so who knows how comparable our numbers really are?

Along with elevation and other things, but what's your point?

OP - Pretty impressive numbers, I'm wondering how much you picked up from the pcm4less tune. Sounds like your car is a runner, it's amazing what a good tune up can do on a 15-20 year old car.

Just managing expectations. OP could easily run mid 13s with those dyno numbers. Mid 12s is close to best-case scenario for a street-driven car at those power levels.

Re: 1993 Firehawk dyno #s finally.

hello, nice #'s just my 2 cents consider adding sub frame connectors / lower control arms & maybe torque arm for better traction (that way no wheel hop). also if you get a chance upgrading valve springs is always a good idea if you rev high. cheers! go kick some rustangs!
