Mine has been running fine in my 11sec DD for around 7 months as well, with way over 300 miles.

All_ignition Opti portion, with MSD cap/rotor.

The problem with these units IS the cap and rotor, which just happens to be the most expensive side of the optispark.

SO! In conclusion, don't buy from all ignition in the first place. The absloute best thign that can happen is that you buy one... it fails, then you replace the cap and rotor with a good one from MSD or equivilent, and end up spending more in the logn run. Just buy an OEM ac delco, MSD, etc or greater.

I believe you are mistaken on both counts. The cap/rotor is the cheap part. Also, mine never failed - worked fine from day one, and is still on without any sign of missing. Frequent trips to the track had no effect at all. The cap and rotor is cheap and easy piece, and usually is what fails on the opti. There are other cars that use the same type of opti sensor(it is a mitsubishi part IIRC) without any problems. Buying the inexpensive opti portion from ebay, and then the cheap MSD cap/rotor unit ends up with an opti that is still cheaper then the MSD or most other OEMs, plus has the benefits like the stronger rotor, thicker casing, better materials, and venting. Same performance+less money=win. Then, you can even sell the unused cap/rotor for some $$$ like I did. Let me not even get into the other expensive trash running around like Accel.

Did I mention it was cheaper???

He told me I could probably sell it for more than I bought it for...yeah right and rip someone else off...not my style.
Well after verifying that the opti they sold was in fact not a GM, I emailed these clowns back asking again for my money back that I could not get $149 by selling it and saying truthfully what it was...I was not going to claim it to be a GM one like they did. I also told them I took it to a GM rep that verified this and they agreed to refund my money....
I sent it back and guess what, they still didn't refund my money and started not answering my emails. Sent the final one saying I needed the refund before tomorrow evening or I was turning all the info over to my friend at GM and they would be persuing and would turn him in for theft. Since 45 days had passed eBay nor Paypal would do anything..they were worthless...(always pay for things on Paypal with a credit card even if you have $$ in your pp account otherwise you are at risk as Paypal seems to always favor the seller.)
Anyway, a few hours later I had my refund finally after sending my final threat to them....

Send mine back about two months ago, and still no refund and no response. Looks like I'm going to have to get ugly.

Send emails to both of their email addresses..I'm sure its a one man clown show, but at least ensures it gets there.
allignition@yahoo.com and sales@all-ignition.com
http://www.all-ignition.com/ but their phone number on the website is disconnected.
I did not do this, but it would probably help to include a copy of the pics they have on their ebay ads showing an AC delco box and an opti that has a brown front like the OEM ones...of course when you receive it there is no AC delco box and its a black front...thus showing them their false advertising. If its used they may not give you your money back, mine they agreed to since it was never installed..but if they agreed to on email thats good enough I guess to press forward.
I still left neutral fb bacause I had to go thru the trouble and it was falsely advertised, I threatened to leave negative fb if no refund promptly also on the last email.

I ordered one of these a while back and with all of the posts here I got spooked and purchased another one from Thepartsladi.

I don't believe that allignition will accept an unused one for a refund. It seems to me that I could:
1) Try to sell the one I have and be honest - maybe someone is feeling lucky?
2) Replace the rotor and cap but I at that point, I would have psend what I paid Thepartladi anyway
3) Make a wall hanging for my garage

I'm just bummed that I bought this and have no confidence that I will install it and it will work.

For those of you that haven't installed your yet, what are you guys doing with your allignition unit?

Yes, but I can't claim that it doesn't work - I just don't "feel lucky". If I were Paypal, I'd tell me to go pound salt.

I returned mine as well, after an e-mail from the vendor. I have documentation that it was recieved and signed for.

I'll let it sit for a week or so and then ask WTF?

Well the same time I was trying to get my refund back I received an eBay survey...... Well my responses as a buyer were rating them very poor and gave this instance as an example.
This guy keeps selling false GM units and is getting away with it.
If its been more than 45 days since the transaction, the buyer has no recourse as a Paypal dispute can't be filed after 45 days.
Anyway.. ebay is supposed to call me this Thurs morn to discuss this case and allignitions practices to see what they can do better to protect buyers in these circumstances..... see what comes of it...probably not much but worth a shot at least to express our issues here with these types of sellers.

BTW, I did finally get my refund after threating to turn him over to GM to persue for selling falsified GM parts as original Delcos.
