i was at autozone today and there was this 96 ws6, the guy who owned it said it ran 11.77. when he popped the hood there was no blower and i didnt see any nitrous nozzles then again it was a quick look. so can a built LT1 run 11.77?

 

Oh hell yeah! Thats very possible in an LT1. Heck there are some that have run better than 11.77 with just a cam.

 

Not only possible, but it's been done numerous times. My TA is a bolt-on LT1 and has two 11 second slips under its belt.
