11.0/1 compression too much?

I am thinking about putting in the hot cam and was thinking of putting in a set of impala SS head gaskets to raise compression at the same time, the gaskets have a .028" compressed thickness compared to the stock .050" which should raise the compression somewhere in the 11.0/1 area and i was wondering if that was a little to much with such a mild cam?

I don't see a problem with it. I'm at ~11.8:1, there are many people running the Impala gaskets with many different combinations. I had them before I spun a bearing, then I went with Fel-Pros with the build.

I have impala head gaskets in my car right now. I have no problems at all. You will be fine, just don't supercharge it!

what benefits do you get from raising the compression from 10.5:1 to 11:1? just curious...

Well my reason for doing it is to help keep my low end power after i install the hot cam,now alot of peaple say that you don't lose any low end after installing the hot cam but there are also some who say that they did lose low end so i am thinking the higher compression will help restore any lose in cylinder pressure at low rpm and at the same time help the top end alittle.

Its not a big enough cam to have to worry about anything, but even on crappy CA gas I ran about 11.4:1
