10 bolt talk!

I know, i know, replace it! If only money grew on tree's.

Heres the question at hand.

As of last season, i managed to go threw 2 sets of rear tires in the span of 5 months somehow . Towards the end tho the rear would peg leg, one wheel wonder..etc pretty bad. No abnormal noises or anything though so thats good ! I can only assume the posi unit is getting worn from my excessive beating on it.

I would enventally like to go big with this car with a stroker engine or a boosted 355, however whether or not that will actually happen is unknown.
I may just throw a 150shot on it and call it good

Now the question i have is, should i just replace the posi, throw a new cover on it, and call it a day?

Or should i not bother, save up and replace the rear end all together.

EDIT: 97 lt1 camaro 6spd with bolt on's. exhaust, tune, headers..

You came into this thread with the right idea, then it went down hill to the wrong idea, then it went back up the hill as a good idea.

If you can get a different rear, or keep replacing yours. A boosted 355 is going to show that 10 bolt who is boss. Also, its a six speed even more risk of shattering that 10 bolt like a stick.

There is one "alternative" a thread in the drivetrain section called "bullet proof 10-bolt". You can look into it if you want, I do not know much about it.

Being that it is a six speed I wouldn't put much money into it because a few 4k+ rpm launches and that thing will most likely shatter. But I have heard of some going 10's with an auto on the stocker

i am sure someone will come in and say this is "overkill" but before you put a ton of cash in the inferior 10 bolt i would save up and get an S60 plenty strong....
