1.60:1
Absolutely! It's a great mod
Assuming you've done some of the other basic bolt ons (CAI, catback, headers, etc ...)
It was next on my list, then I decided to do heads/cam while I was at it.

I don't want to cut corners, just make it safe and fun.

Dont forget to match the rest of the valvetrain to the higher ratio rockers. The LT4 spring kit it a great buy.

1.6:1 and 1.5:1 is the ratio not 1:50, not sure if that was a typo.

If you have the heads off, I'd get them ported and polished, send them out to LLoyd Elliot or something and have him setup your valvetrain and get a cam.

Re: Which 1.6 Rockers are you guys using?

More thread sharin'.....
My Z is a '96 with CAI, a Flowmaster aftercat and tune by ProDyno in
Tempe, AZ.
With good air one night I ran a 13.10 @ 101 mph at Speedworld. I was
a happy son of a gun, that close to the 12's
Bottom line is temp gauge was probably running low, and the car got
hot and sprang a major coolant leak on the expressway, then head
gasket let go. I'm just about ready to take it apart, first thing is these
cars are a challenge to wrench on. With 94,000 miles I'm thinking
head gaskets, valve job, and cooling system. ( water pump, radiator,
have fans and temp guage checked for proper operation) Go faster
stuff, while wanted, maybe out of reach for now.
Except.
I keep thinking, man, I'll have it apart. Drop in some 1.6 RR's, then
the manifolds will be out, how about some smog legal long or mid tubes ?
On and on it goes....

Thanks !

My current setup:

-Scorpion 1.6rr NSA
-Trickflow 7.2" Hardened Pushrods
-Trickflow Guideplates
-ARP 7/16" Studs

I adjusted these during the initial break in and then readjusted after about 25 miles. I checked them recently and they're all on the money. They fit under the stock valve covers and are pretty quiet.

I had Pro Mag 1.52 and now moved to 1.6 Ultra-Gold which are the new Aluminum ones from comp cams. Does really look too pretty to install... Might install my Pro Mag and keep the Ultra-Gold's on my desk... Just Kidding!
