I third that, or fourth... whatever it's up to now. If you are going to do rockers, you may as well go with larger studs since they don't add much cost.

Also, added to that list should be hardened pushrods, and LT4 springs.

This setup has been awesome so far.

BTW, make sure you get GM guideplate part # 14011051. They are the correct guideplates for the LT1. You can see pics of the stuff in my sig.

Sorry, I should have said :
The 'cap kit' is the RETAINERS,and 'spring cap keys' are the LOCKS.. just different terminology..
The p/n's in your above post are correct..

There's good advice here for anyone that wants to take it.

Harland Sharp 1.5 rr's here...can't beat them for the money and when you run into big springs. My Crane Gold rr's and my Pro-mags did not work.

Re: Which 1.6 Rockers are you guys using?

I have the GM 1.6 rollers on the SS. I have the 7/16 NSA Promags on the TA. I have had no problems with either although I think the Promags are quieter. I have used the GM rockers for over 3 years and run both cars pretty hard. Of the two the Promags are my favorite but they cost more and required more parts to install.

Re: Which 1.6 Rockers are you guys using?

Not meaning to hi jack the thread,.....
is the stock ratio 1:50 ?
I'm going to pull the heads on my '96 LT1 after a head gasket
mis adventure and I'm thinking check for flatness, clean up valves,
maybe 1:60 for a little more umph ?
Worth it ?
My Camaro has been sitting for over a year while I recovered from a
motorcycle accident and saved money to work on it. I don't want
to cut corners, just make it safe and fun.
Thanks
