*excellent info* 93 specific info list.
Just bought a 93z, working on rebuilding it over the winter. The driver door was gutted but the passenger door looks complete. I took the window/lock controls from my 96z and can't get the locks or the windows to do anything.
The module in the passenger kick panel is missing (was there ever a module there in the 93z? there is a spot for it.), which I'm thinking may have something to do with it.
Also, there are four other sets of wires which I don't know where they go to. Do these go to the PCM? My PCM is missing so that could also be an explanation.
Great thread, keep it up!

If the four sets of wires are in the space under the passenger side hood hinge where the pcm would be, that's what they're for. I do believe that there was a module for the windows/locks too if I remember right.

Part numbers for the parts I'm missing help too! I have 4?? connectors in the passenger kick panel and don't know what connects to them other than maybe the PCM.
Thanks.

I have 5 connectors behind the kick panel. Two of them plug together (I'm guessing they are supposed to.) Three of them somewhat match the image previously posted. I see the two cables labeled C220 and C230. As for the third cable shown, well, I have no clue where it goes or what it does.
Any help is appreciated. What purpose does each of these cables serve?

Ok, so time to change out front breaks....but.....
Ok, On PepBoys site and Tire rack, I get the same number for break pads as 94-97, but on Jegs Site, it has a different number for 93's.
So what is the deal? Will the 94-97 pads work on the 93's?
btw, what happen to the speed density site?

93 front brake pads were slightly smaller than the 94-97 if I remember right.
As for the speed density website, the old one is down permanantly. A few of us members started up a new one at www.speeddensity.org . Come by and check it out. it's not the old site, but it works.

I don't think I remember seeing the following difference noted previosly. If it was I am sorry.
Tonight I went to get the windows tinted and I ran into a problem. I drove about two hours to a shop that said they would do the hatch glass in one piece. After about an hour struggling w/ the hatch glass tint, he remembered that it's basically impossible to do the 93s in one piece. He said that the only ones that are a problem are the 93s. 94+ is no problem but the 93 has a slightly different curve to it, making it basically impossible to do in one piece. He said that he tried a 93 several years ago and realized that it was a problem. He didn't think that my car was even close to a 93 so he didn't even think about it. He said that if I were to buy the glass for a 93 now it would be the same as a 94+ but from the factory the glass in the 93 was slightly different. The guy that owned the first 93 he tried also worked there at the time. They only solution to have a 93 w/ one piece tint in the rear was to submit an insurance claim for new glass since somebody threw a spark plug through it.
Again, if this difference was already mention I am sorry.

In regards to the initial post:
I thought that you could flash trouble codes on any OBD I ECM, not just 93's. Also, I thought the black tops were standard until '95, when they became an option.

If by 'flashing' you mean the paper clip/jumper method of blinking the SES light for codes.. 94 and later need a scanner to extract DTC's
For 93 only you can jump under dash data link connector to get them...
