PLEASE DONT ADVISE HIM TO GET PACE SETTERS>

pace setters are known crap and the flange is thin junk.. GEt some nice ceramic coated headers. Either used or new in good ocndition and some nice new header bolts. Dont get stainless steel header bolts they are too soft and you cant torque them as much I have BBK headers and I am extremely pleased. they even have alittle BBK plaque on the drivers side header. Hookers are good, Some other aftermarket. Or go custom for 500...

Correction: Pacesetter LONGTUBES are 100000x better than their shorties.

Look: http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/misc/hooker_pace26.jpg

The top is hooker and the bottom is pacesetter. What was that about crappy flanges?

For a full comparison, see Here <-- a very good write up of hooker vs pacesetter.

WRONG.

i'd recommend pacesetter LTs to anyone. they're very high quality. the flanges are about half an inch thick.

say it with me "we do not talk of what we do not know"

Get some good LT's for sure. If you have some left over, put that toward a bored 52mm stock tb.

NOW THIS GUY IS SAYING GET A THROTTLE BODY>

Dont get athrottle bdoy for a while unless you add some crazy power adder. You have to spend your money on things that will free up more airflow in your engine first. the 48mm throttle body will flow enough for a 383 if necessary. You wont gain HP from just a throttle body so forget that mod for now. Worry about a simple intake that gets a lot of cold fresh air, a nice exhaust from HEADERS BACK (get the whole thing) and some PCM work or Suspension. Throttle body can wait until you sapend 600 on a Nitrous kit or build up a new engine, or if you got all new ported heads and valves etc. For now a TB would waste $350 of yours.

Thanks for the help guys, going to get the whole new exhaust system( my hookers are starting to show some rust/wear, don't think it was stainless steel). I'm thinking about getting the connecter for my labtop to my car and have those PCM tunes emailed to me from Madz28. How much gains can I see from the tuning?

Talking

$400 for a pair of long tube chrome ceramic coated headers sounds like a really good deal!! I would rather pay more like $300 but for a new set of long tubes thats not a bad price. Now if they made them big enough for blown applications...
