There is a line between getting a good deal or bending the rules a bit, and simply crossing that line and being dishonest.

I have friends at dealerships who have helped me out from time to time with warranty stuff that does not fit the traditional warranty profile, but they would not ever cross that line and actually claim something that is not true.

In my opinion there is a huge difference between replacing a fuel pump for the third time (under warranty), nu bull, actual failure happened, but instead of dropping the rear to change it out, cutting an access hole from the top (took the same amount of time and the same cost), plus the third fuel pump was swapped in within an hour and the dealer was required to invoice for the flat rate repair (so they made more money).

To me that is bending the rules to mutual advantage and not ripping someone off.

What your friend is doing is ripping someone or some company off by making a false claim. That type of stuff makes me angry because ultimately we all pay more because of the type of stuff he is doing and by going along with him you become part of the problem yourself.

That is just my opinion.

 

All parts removed for warrenty go back to GM. Anyone with eyes who can spot the difference between a EGR equipted LS1 manifold and a LS6 manifold. Although I doubt ou care the dealership could end up paying GM back for the work because the parts installed on the car wasn't original and not covered under any warranty.

Your friend is stealing a LS6 manifold from GM for you. Are you OK with that???

ok i see what you guys are saying. We didnt do anything with the swap. My car still has the LS1 intake and just gonna buy a weiand or fast down the road. sorry guys

I say its his Corvette, If he wants to give you HIS ls6 intake that is between you and him!
Screw GM, They screw all there employee's!! I KNOW FIRST HAND!! Get one back for the good guys!
