Why would my ASR turn off?

On my 02 Z28, within a minute after starting my car, the ASR shuts off and my ABS INOP light also comes on. Does anyone know what would make this happen?

Re: Why would my ASR turn off?

Probably one of the ABS sensors is shot. Check the ABS and traction control fuses.

Re: Why would my ASR turn off?

My '96 Z28 did that awhile ago when I turned the hazards on. Doubt this will help you at all, but I ended up tracing it to the turn signal flasher! Since I replaced it it's never done it since.

Re: Why would my ASR turn off?

I'm guessing a wheel speed sensor.

Re: Why would my ASR turn off?

You may also have a problem with the brake lights, which turns on the ABS INOP light, which in turn turns off the ADR, because there is a problem with the brakes.

Re: Why would my ASR turn off?

thinking the brake light bulbs (or wiring to them) have nothing to do with VSS, ABS, or TCS. or any function in the braking system for that matter.

otherwise the car could have no/poor brakes if the bulbs went out. NO way they would design them that way.
