What's a good price for an '02?
Honestly, a lot of what a specific car is going for now a day depends upon just being in the right place at the right time for both the seller & buyer. I don't really think you can stick a tag on any given F-body and use that as the standard for what it is worth as compared to others(optioned similar or not, low mileage or high mileage, good condition or bad condition, etc...).
In your case, this Camaro was definitely worth it to you and I believe you definitely got what you payed for(which is all that matters). I personally still think you could have got that "stripper" model for at least $2 grand less even though it was an '02 w/ the M6. Just basing that opinion on what I've seen happen with the market for similarly optioned/mileaged '02 LS1 F-bods. But I do understand that dealerships almost always charge more to sell many of their used cars than if you were looking to buy from an individual privately(as this is where most of my line of thinking is coming from).
So take care of that new Z, good luck with the quest for 12's bone stock, and have fun modifying it along the way.
