What makes an SS an SS?
http://home.earthlink.net/~cetera/pics/99_SS.pdf
Those were the extra options for 99. If you just got the base SS like me, it was just hood, wheels, spoiler, and exhaust. The hood and the exhaust made some extra power over the stock Z28, but not much. The hood is not really a ram air setup...but, more of a factory cold air setup.
PS - Maybe we could get some kinda top 10 FAQ list going...because it seems this topic comes up at least once a month, if not more.

ok, well my SS has SLP induction Lid with K&N filter and a SLP Y-pipe. and flow master. Are these good mods to have done?
Ok so its bascically an appearance package. So that hood scoop does nothing?

[B]That's about it. And the SS stickers give at least 3 hp too.
The SS package was an APPEARANCE PACKAGE.
17" Wheels.
Air induction hood. (not forced air - The hood doesn't seal to the lid)
Rear spoiler.
Different (slightly better) cat back.
...AND SS emblems.
So the Bilstien shocks, larger front sway bar, and low profile tires are for looks. These are standard on a 98 SS and I thought that they were for handling

Sorry for the newbie question. It would be really great if this site did have an FAQ section. They have it on MCSS.COM and it helped me out alot when i first got my monte. Some thing for the mods to think about
Ok, so if the SS hood is just kinda like a cold air induction hood, then how come the WS6 hood says ram air on it?
