i dont know if i would see that gain or not, i mean that much of a gain. always wondered that when you add mods together.

they say dr's gain you .5, tc=.5, ls6 intake (vs ls1) .1, ssra .1, 3.73's (vs 2.73's) .5, lt's .3

i dont see a car running 13.5 getting those mods and running 11.5

btw greed, this statement has nothing to do with your quote, just throwing that out there. some people would take it as arguing. im not.

I remember seeing a 00 T/A with a 4400 stall (something like that) 4:10 gears, and a cutout with slicks on the rear running 11's. Motor was stock, rear was stock, tranny was stock. Again, power is a wonderful thing, you just have to put it to the ground.

I know of MANY 2.8" pulley cobra's pulling 120-122mph traps. Those cars are ****ing amazing. I can't wait for the GT500.

That's also with a stock TB, stock injectors, stock rockers, stock crank pulley, and stock fuel pump at 73,000 miles.

F13 or F14 are great cams.. The F-13 drives just like stock until you punch it

My friend has a 2001 Z06 that has LG Motorsports Longtubes, Stinger CAI, B&B exhaust, Spec Stage 3 clutch, dyno tune, and went 12.08 @ 115 the other night.

my buddy has an 03 cobra lighly modded (exhaust, cold air ..etc.) he cant drive the thing at all, he ran a 13.3 1/4. If youre racing a stock cobra the best thing you can do is just make sure you can drive your car.

Cant agree with this more. Definately not living the fantasy that my 2002 Ws6 is keeping w/ Cobras. But the driver definately makes/breaks the car. Traction is a huge issue w/ that independent rear. Ive seen some real blunderous take offs to say the least. Just my .02.

traction is probably the biggest issue when it comes to stock cobras
ive raced my cousins 04 cobra with my 2000 ss and walked him many times from dig to roll-ons.(mods in sig)ive even raced with me driving his cobra against him driving my ss and hes beat me, cobras are friggin tough to get to hook up with that irs and suppercharger puttin power down low with stock tires, grantit ive do have some mods done to my car but ive had no trouble beatin stock 03-04 cobras digs or roll-ons
so the best key is hook up well on the launch get a good set of tires cause if hes stock you should be able to put like a car or 2 off the line and lt's should give you enough power to hold him off through the 1/4 gl if you race post the results

what are the best ways to get more traction besides receiving power from a cam?

Re: what does it take to beat a cobra?

dont be a hater..... im no expert but the power from a cam will probably make you lose more traction since there is obviously more power turning those wheels.... maybe an idea for more traction could be some Drag Radials or Slicks.... suspension mods like LCAs and SFCs it all helps.... giving more power to your motor doesnt help with traction
