Vaccum leak.....

i found a huge vaccum leak on my car today, thats why its been idleing like crap. the little 1 inch hose from the pcv valve to the intake manifold had like a dime size hole on the under side of it.

anyone else ever have this same problem?

Yes it happened to my friends ls1 he thought it was his intake whistling, but it was the vacuum leak caused from the pcv hose. Bet it runs a lot better now.

Mine had a slit about 3/4's of an inch almost all around after a race, it was gross. But I got a new replacement runs good now.

Thats interesting. Is it like a burn hole or a split?

Very common on LS1s, as well as MANY other engines. The rubber deteriorates over time from oil/gas vapor, and the vacuum either collapses the rubber tube or tears it open.
