v6 to v8 swap

Hey guys, I'm sure you get this a lot but here's my question. I have a base 94 camaro with roll down windows. Nothing is powered no fogs just plain Jane. I found an 2006 ls engine with tranny, wiring, and computer for $950.00. Can I just do a simple bolt on or would I have to change a couple of things? Another thing is can I use the same wiring? I believe the engine is out of a silverado or something.

Thanks.

If its an 06 LS Engine its almost undoubtfully out of a truck so the short answer is no.

You will have to change the intake manifold to LS1/LS6 or aftermarket F-Body intake, the accessories into F-Body accessories, then you're ganna need a custom wiring harness and PCM, K-Member, steering rack, suspension, fuel pump, and Radiator. Im sure there's more but SHORT answer is your $950 engine is ganna cost about $5,000 to complete without labor

+1 to what Need4Camaro said. plus exhaust, maybe a driveshaft.

and for under/around 5K you can find a used 98+ v8 car anyway.

If you dont care about fuel mileage / drivability then you can probably get away with a carb setup and cowl hood and save about $2k... you'll still need to figure a way out to get your Transmission to work though since its largely dependent upon the PCM and engine electronics... or sell the A4 and use the funds to buy a TH400 which will save you another $500 probably

Re: v6 to v8 swap

I did alittle more research. It turns out you CAN reuse the truck accessories. You have to relocate the tensioner with the alternator and use a half inch spacer to mount the alternator and reuse the power steering pump from your 3.4L and it will work. It will save you like $700 too. The wiring harness and PCM will have to come out of a 98 LS1 F-Body as they are compatible with the 93 - 97 cars.

You will still need the intake though.
