Re: Typhoon intake?

Do they have a good reputation?
In the 5.0 Mustang world, NO. They are known for having TONS of casting flash inside the runners of their 5.0 "Typhoon" intake, erratic sized lower power, ect. As pertains to Mustang intakes, if you are willing to spend some time with a grinder cleaning up all the flash/cleaning up the ports, it can work well...but out of the box they are known for having some..."slop".

Also, they make throttle bodies for 5.0 Mustangs...I bought one. It didn't line up with either my stock or my Cobra upper intake, so I had to drill out the mounting holes on the throttle body to get it to line up. In my eyes, yeah it should have fit out of the box, but at $150 cheaper than BBK/Accufab alternatives I guess it was worth the savings.

Just relating my knowledge of Proffesional Products in general..no idea about this LS6 intake specifically.

Re: Typhoon intake?

I wouldnt mind a few hours with a grinder if it out performs the regular LS6 intake, and is cheaper than the fast

Cleaning up casting flash wouldn't even take a couple of hours.

Re: Typhoon intake?

FWIW, Byunspeed.com carries these intakes. They have the LS1 and LS2 versions. (The LS2 version is configured to work on LS1's.) Ebay I can understand, and I'm not saying it hasn't or won't happen but Byunspeed seems to stock some pretty high quality stuff so if these intakes are indeed "junk," it's seems out of the ordinary to see them for sale on that site.

Re: Typhoon intake?

Yeah. The dyno numbers were pretty discouraging... I guess I'll hope to catch a GP on the 90mm FAST.
