Has anyone heard of these Typhoon Intakes? I've been checking Ebay regularly for a good deal on an LS6 but this is a first. anyone know about them?

At least it LOOKS good.

Re: Typhoon intake?

the years of ACTIVE involvment in this board and the LS1 forum...and i've never heard of a "typhoon intake"....makes me a bit suspicious.

i've seen BBK intakes polished before....and unless you're running a sick motor...no real need for high flow fuel rails

I know it's new, and all of the usual precautions should be taken, but at first glance, the company and product look legit.

Re: Typhoon intake?

Do a search on tech for the manufacturer.

Re: Typhoon intake?

Charlie, I KNOW metallic intakes absorb heat. (that one of the reasons the LS1's use plastic) BUT if it will still make more power than an LS6 intake even when hot, its a cheaper alternative to the FAST and it looks hardcore.

Re: Typhoon intake?

i'd be willing to bet, as with most of the other intakes (except the FAST) there will be minimal improvement over the LS6. even on a h/c car

i say stick with what works

Re: Typhoon intake?

Hey guys , over on LS1tech there is a HUGE thread about this intake and I think there is even some dyno results.Keep in mind this made in CHINA but supposedly is of good quality, you decide. Do a search and you should find the thread. As far as heat soak being a issue, I personally that is way overated, aluminum intakes have been around along time making alot of serious HP.

Re: Typhoon intake?

I'm hoping that, if nothing else, the Typhoon intake will bring down the cost of the FAST 90mm...

Re: Typhoon intake?

I say try it.

Im running a Professional Products Hurricane intake manifold on my car and im going low 11's all motor. The fitment was just as good as any Edelbrock/Holley ive worked with...just cheaper in price.

Most of them come with extra material so you can port it which is what I did.
