TSP In-Tank Fuel Pump Upgrade Kit

On Texas Speed & Performance there is listed a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump upgrade kit. What does it take to install this pump upgrade into a 1999 z28 m6? Is it a good replacement or a will it give me a problem? I already found out the hard way that the racetronix kit is only for the 1998, even though Thunder Racing has it listed for 98-99. If anyone has any knowledge of this pump and install please let me know.

I really need to get this done in a hurry and if this doesnt work Im gonna have to be forced to pick up the dealer pump for an arm and a leg.

please help if you can

Thanx
Vinny

A Walbro 340M can be put into the plastic module but a hole will have to be cut in the bottom as the venturi feature will no longer be functional.

Racetronix has the GSS340M for $99.99.

Racetronix does have the upgrade harness available for your car but if this is not for an HP application then it is not required.

or you could pull the carpet or use a x-acto knife to cut the carpet and then cut to where the pump is. if you ever hafta change the pump again it would take 10 minutes maxand if you do it right, ppl will never know the carpets been cut

I already have the tank out, the car is sittin on ramps waitin for me and this sux. I need to get a pump that is gonna go in w/o givin me a hard time. Minor modifications would be no problem. Cutting a hole is no problem if thats all it takes to install the pump. i just want to make sure that im not gonna get screwed over again.

Not only did I get the wrong part but I got charged shipping twice and a 20% restocking fee. I wouldnt mind if I was an idiot and the ad said 1998 only but the ad says 98-99. I dont see how its my fault but the company doesnt seem to agree. So im out like 50 somethin bucks. I just really want to get this over and done with.

If anyone knows a good pump to use please let me know. When TSP gets back to me I will probably go with that unless someone else shows me somethin better first.

Thanx
Vinny

Our fuel pump upgrade kit will work just fine with your '99 Z28. It will come with the needed clamps and fuel injection hose to make the kit work. Feel free to give us a call, and I will have our lead technician, Joseph, walk you through the install.

Feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions.

Vinny, First of all, I apologize that you received a part that will not work on your car. We have the part listed for the "98-99 LS1 F-body w/ metal gas tank" because a few of the 99 models do have the metal gas tanks. I looked up all of the e-mail correspondance between us and I found that I had actually sent you an e-mail explaining the following:

"Vinny, Thanks for the e-mail. Unfortunately, the Racetronix kits for the LS1 cars will only work with the cars with the metal gas tanks. These are typically only found on the 98 model cars. If you have a metal tank, the Racetronix system is a direct replacement for the factory system. If you have the plastic fuel tank, Racetronix is currently working on a kit, but it will not likely be available until well after the first of the year. Let me know if you have any more questions--

I also checked the second e-mail that I sent you and I told you that I would credit you back for the cost of the product, less shipping charges. (I have a note in our system that NO restocking fee will apply.) When you return the kit, we will credit you with no restocking fee.

Well u never specified to me that you were going to waive the restocking fee, but I do appreciate that. I thank you for that actually. But i never did receive an email saying that. Also that piece you quoted explaining to me about how the part wont fit and the proper part wont be available until after the first of the year I never got either. In fact I only received a single email response from you, which said and I quote:

"Vinny, I'm sorry about the kit not fitting your car. In fact, some of the 99 model cars did come with the metal gas tanks, so we have to leave it up to the customer to be aware of what tank they have in the car. (That's why we put the part about the gas tank in the actual product description.) As long as the kit is unused and in it's original condition, I will be happy to offer you a refund on the cost of the product only. You will need to fill out the return form on the back of your invoice and you can use RMA# 1327. Let me know if you have any more questions-- "

no where in here did u say that you were going to waive the fee, but like I said thank you for that I truly do appreciate it. Filling out the back of the form is where it stated that I would be charged a restocking fee, and as of yet I still have not received my credit so I assumed as was stated by your form that I would be charged.

thank you for clearing that up about the restocking fee.

Vinny
