Those of you that have replaced the alternator - how did you get it out ?
I struggled w/ that S.O.B. for several hours last night, and finally got it out after slinking it out between the steering lines, and the driver's side fan.
Unfortunately, I also managed to bring the connector & a short chunk of the field supply wire ( tiny ! little red wire that runs from the wiring harness to the packard connector on the top side of the alternator ) , which I am having to now jury rig.
WTF is the trick to getting this thing back in ?
I have never fought so hard w/ something that should have been so simple.
( Well, automotive related, anyhow - relationships are a whole 'nother story !
)
Thanks !
Britt
