Does anyone know if I will need a lower thermostat with my k&n fipk for my 02 z?

yeah that's kindda like asking if you need a new air filter when you put a new muffler on

a lower stat will benefit your car any time you are moving (air over the radiator). it will still function the same as stock when in traffic or sitting at the track untill you buy a fanswitch or have the fan settings changed.
