Re: TEmp gauge hitting 250F...

I just had this same problem. Car always runs at normal temps locally, but I took her on a 500+ mile round trip and had the same symptoms you described on the way back. I also changed my coolant about a year ago. Here's what I came up with:
When the gauge was reading 250+ and I parked, the engine still didn't seem overly hot. The fan only stayed on a minute or so after parking and the upper radiator hose was hot, but not ridiculously so. I noticed bubbles in the radiator water when I restarted and was able to add 2 16oz bottles of water. I turned the heater on full blast then the A/C then the heater and the coolant plummeted, so I added more water. Conclusion? I think there was a bunch of trapped air in the coolant system. Try bleeding yours out real well and see if it helps. Ben

Well, like I pointed out earlier, take a look dead on at your air dam. You can see that the lip is blocking a good portion of the dam. An SSRA will only exacerbate the problem. I'm not aerodynamics expert but I could imagine at high speeds the dam will be getting very little direct air because most of it will be diverted. Not much you can do other then get a bigger dam, ditch the lip, or run some ducting like I'm going to do.

Sorry, I don't have pics as I haven't done it yet, currently dealing with having to install an adjustable master cyliner, so first things first.

Re: TEmp gauge hitting 250F...

what about the slp radiator, 160 gauge, and fan control. Might this help in keeping the temp down... would i need anything else like the slp oil pump.. The funny thing is i spoke to xenon and they told me they had never any complaints about the kit i was the 1st one....

Your Car is mostly stock. your cooling system should be more than capable of handling it. buying all that is just trying to cover up the problem instead of fixing it.

but fixing it could been removing the body kit, which if that is it, i wont be fixing it, but going "around" it... (at first i was like, eh, the body kit is alright, but after having it for so long... the car looks naked without it...

Should we just tell xenon that we are having problems with their body kit... when i told them they didnt know there was a problem.. if enough people tell them they might help us put with something...

No, you shouldn't have to remove your kit, I know I'm not removing my front lip. All I was reffering to is that buying all that stuff might be uneccessary, if not worthless, if all that is needed is more airflow to your radiator. That would mean having to do something creative witht he dam (like lowering it or making a larger one) or creating ductwork to get more air there.
