I'm going to go against the flow here and suggest that you get whatever you want. Bolt-ons are fine. There are several people in my car club that have bolt-on SFC's and they have never had the holes change or the bolts loosen up on them.

I run a set of bolt-on SFC's from Spectacle Solutions. They are GREAT. The car corners like it's on frikkin' rails. Plus, you can't beat the price for a set from Spectacle Solutions.

Check out his stuff. He makes them by hand in his garage. They are modeled after the SLP DoubleDiamond SFC's but also adds a small wedge to the back allowing you to use your factory jack if you have a flat on the side of the road.

I am not sure spectacle solutions is still producing SFC's, and if they are they are producing them VERY slowly. I waited for over 6 months for a set before I decided to just get SLP's.

One of the few things I remember from Economics is the law of Supply and Demand. If Demand exceeds Supply then price will increase to reduce Demand. Spectacle Solutions has discovered this law. From their web site:

Effective Monday, October 14 subframe connectors will be available for order. Due to increasing order volume which we could not accomodate, there will be a price increase. The new price will be $225 per set, plus shipping and handling. Although this is a substantial price increase, these subs are still the best buy on the market.

I wonder if we can get a GP???

Spectacle did take a break from production. Brian was swamped with orders and since he builds them in his garage, he just couldn't keep up. Plus, his wife has a baby due any time now, so he's been busy with the extra things that go with that.

Brian has been building up some stock for his products so that he doesn't have to "build to order". He has also increased his prices slightly to help offset the increase of his materials, the additional cost of powdercoating, and to help ease the demand.

I've got his SFCs, STB, and short stick on my '01 WS6 and they are great. At some point, I'll put a full exhaust on my car. After that, I'll have the SFC's welded since there will be no reason for them to come off again.

I think Brian's new price is $225. That's still $75 cheaper than the SLP DD and they look almost identical.

Thanks everyone for the interesting discussion. I guess that's why they make Z28s and Formulas. Everybody has there own favorite. I guess what limited auto crossing I'll do and less then 6000 miles a year and ease of installation, bolt on's are the way to go for me. As several have said they could be welded in the future.

Gillbot. $260 for SLP's bolt ons? I believe they're $299 on their internet site. ?????????????

It seems some are having issues with them though. I never had a problem. I called them almost every other day to be sure my order went smoothly. If they didn't answer I left a message and called 10x more

I'm looking at RKSport weld in double diamond frame. $245 powder coated. I have a welder and figure it is the best one to go with. Anyone have an opinion on them?? What is the concern I have heard about exhaust interferance with the DD frame? Thanks.
