Strange Engine Noise(Vid inside)

Well, yesterday I noticed a strange whisteling noise coming from the engine compartment while I was dropping some stuff off at the mail box. It sounds like something is leaking 'compressed air'. There is a steady noise while the engine is running. Also after turning the car off it goes on for a second, and then you can hear it release the pressure I made this video in hopes that someone would maybe recognize the problem? The car seems to be running normal, and all gauges seem to be at proper levels. Any ideas would be very helpful.

check the rubber gromet that connects to the intake right behind the TB. its where the pcv vavle tube goes into the intake on the pass. side. i fixed that on an ls1 before the rubber part was craked on the back side where you cant see it.

I'll try and check that.

Just to let everyone know, there hasn't been anything done to the car recently, it just started. Not like I had the intake off last week or anything like that. I mean it's getting up there in age I suppose, and has 75k miles so I expect things to fail...I just can't figure out WTF this is. I didn't see anything apparent when I checked. Maybe my dad will be able to offer some assistance.

I had that same noise and it was the rubber hose that connect to the intake like suttererman85 described above.

Is this a fairly easy repair? I can't imagne the part cost very much, does it? Can it be picked up at a local autoparts place?

prob have to go to the dealer or get a piece of hose that will fit well. that would be the cheap fix and what i would do.

Re: Strange Engine Noise(Vid inside)

no its just a piece of rubber tube that connects the PCV valve to the intake where it hooks onto the intake

Re: Strange Engine Noise(Vid inside)

I went down to the part store and had them cut me off a hose about 3.5" long that was the right diameter. The dealership will want you to guy the whole unit that is like 90 bucks when all you need is the hose. Try to find the size of the hose you need and make it yourself. Much cheaper!

I ordered just the hose from the dealer for $25. While I may have been able to do it cheaper, I felt that was reasonable enough.
