You gotta love dealerships that will say/do anything just to get you to go away. I wouldn't deal with them anymore if they were either this ignorant or disrespectful.

BTW - I hate my SLP Hurst shifter. I can't wait to get a B&M Ripper.
I've read so many posts of people giving the B&M Ripper heavy praise, and saying that its even better than the Pro 5.0 shifter. Is it really that awesome? If so, I might just get one in a few months.

I've never used one. I'm just basing my expectation on what many others have said. I've heard of problems with the Pro 5.0's handle coming unbolted. I haven't heard much negative feedback on the Ripper.

I've driven both and I like the Pro 5.0 just a little better. It's a little smoother and you can cut the shaft length down to suit because it's threaded for 2 inches
As far as the Pro 5.0s handle coming unbolted that's just improper installation. A little removeable Loctite and the proper torque and ours has stayed tight for 5 years now. Installed as the instructions stated.
My 2 cents.

I ordered my Z without the factory Hurst because after test driving one with it , it wasnt worth the $325 Chevy charged for it, when I got the car I bought the Hurst Billet shifter for it ,alot less $, and a better shifter, just buy the nice ride and get a better aftermarket shifter.

Ditto. I ordered my car and skipped the Hurst shifter. Why give GM $325 when I knew that I would buy something better.
