BTW - I hate my SLP Hurst shifter. I can't wait to get a B&M Ripper.
I've read so many posts of people giving the B&M Ripper heavy praise, and saying that its even better than the Pro 5.0 shifter. Is it really that awesome? If so, I might just get one in a few months.Originally posted by 2002Z28SSConv

I've never used one. I'm just basing my expectation on what many others have said. I've heard of problems with the Pro 5.0's handle coming unbolted. I haven't heard much negative feedback on the Ripper.Originally posted by Omega9

I've driven both and I like the Pro 5.0 just a little better. It's a little smoother and you can cut the shaft length down to suit because it's threaded for 2 inchesOriginally posted by 2002Z28SSConv

As far as the Pro 5.0s handle coming unbolted that's just improper installation. A little removeable Loctite and the proper torque and ours has stayed tight for 5 years now. Installed as the instructions stated.
My 2 cents.

I ordered my Z without the factory Hurst because after test driving one with it , it wasnt worth the $325 Chevy charged for it, when I got the car I bought the Hurst Billet shifter for it ,alot less $, and a better shifter, just buy the nice ride and get a better aftermarket shifter.
