Yeah and my 2000 Formula with just a lid and loudmouth put down 312 hp at the wheels thru an automatic and ran 12.15 @ 110 with a torque converter.

For the same money as an LT4 kit you can do heads/cam LT1 that makes way more power than that.

Re: Silly question

ahhh stick with what you know guys

You know.... they actually did build a lt4 engine.... not just an upgrade kit that isnt' even the same cam. That dyno from what I gather is a stock lt4... no hotcam, no mods...

Now I'd still prefer a lsx platform anyways 402 ls2 anyone? haha

Re: Silly question

Thanks guys for all your input. Believe that changing over to a LS2 big inch and snail will make finding parts a lot simpler. LT1 stuff is getting harder to find. As for the switching over from LT1 to LSx thats just a k-member and wiring both simple work.

Phantom what you doing these days?

Yes sir. The lt4 is a looker, an awe-er, but not necesarily a number pleaser. Its basically an exotic, domestic engine.

I would like to persuade you otherwise. Just resell the ls2 and use the profit to improve your current car. I'm sure someone out there has a v6 that is wants to convert to something bigger, and I'm sure that you can get alot of aftermarket power with the extra money you get. It will also save you some time as far as pulling the engine and such. But if you are personally attracted to the ls2 (like some in this thread are attracted to the lt4), then follow your heart. (man that sounds funny)

Not really sure what is so exotic about the LTx based engines. somthing like 83% gen I parts. Even the LSx based gen III and IV's are not exotic. Ford has more of an EXOTIC engine with the 3V set up.

Also it will not be a STOCK LS2. Big inch and a turbo will be nice combo. My daily driver will stay LTx based engine running in the high 10's and logging 250 miles a week avg.

Oops, I said lt4, I meant to say lt5 (the quad overhead cams), I feel like an idiot.
