Re: shopping for y-pipe and cats

JESUS!!! does anyone read the posts at this forum!!!!

PREVIOUSLY POSTED BY ME: Thanks alot for the suggestions for Ebay, I may do that. One last and final question: Those magnaflow cats that you speak of, the only ones i could find that were the ~$50 ,$60 range were for V6's. None supplied threw E-bay for a V-8. Will these filter enough of the gasses because my car is a v8 and not a v6? I understand they are not direct replacement, so consideration in what this v6 catylytic convertor can filter for my hearty v8 motor should come in to factor, I think. AND by the way, this car is in texas, so not quite as strict on the gasses but pretty stinking close. I guess it all depeds on how much this catylytic convertor can filter... Any thoughts?

Praying huh?
Was operating off the original post, sorry.
In parts of TX, you can get by w/out cats. Get O2 sims or have the rear O2's tuned out.

You can also get Carsound/AKA Magnaflow cats for V8's cheap. Just ask the seller if you don't see any listed. Try a search for Carsound on ebay.

No, V6 cats will not be good enough. With cat relocation you're probably going to have to get an all round Y (aftermarket). This is going to drive the price up. Post in the TX section and see if anyone has an ORY for sale cheap and get a shop to install the cats and make it fit stock manifolds

If you decide to go back stock. You can most likely get the stuff dirt cheap if not FREE, if you pick it up. I see people cleaning out their garages and getting rid of stock exhaust stuff a lot.

Try this..seems like a good deal to me. Not sure what shipping would cost though, but it should at least solve the emissions issue.
